This calculator determines how much area a single wallpaper roll can cover, accounting for pattern matching. Step 1: Calculate effective strip height (accounting for pattern repeat) - Base strip height = Wall height - If pattern repeat exists: Strip height = Ceiling(Wall height ÷ Pattern repeat) × Pattern repeat - Example: 8 ft (96") wall with 12" repeat: Ceiling(96÷12) × 12 = 8 × 12 = 96" = 8 ft Step 2: Calculate usable strips per roll - Strips per roll = Floor(Roll length ÷ Strip height) - Example: 30 ft roll ÷ 8 ft strip = 3.75 → 3 usable strips Step 3: Calculate coverage per roll - Coverage = Strip height × Roll width - Example: 8 ft × 2.25 ft (27" wide) = 18 sqft per roll Larger pattern repeats increase strip height and reduce the number of usable strips per roll.
