This comprehensive calculator estimates all primary drywall materials for a complete project. **Sheets Needed** = ceil(Wall Area ÷ Sheet Size) Standard sheet sizes are 4×8 (32 sqft), 4×10 (40 sqft), and 4×12 (48 sqft). **Joint Compound (Mud)** = Wall Area × Mud Coverage (lbs/sqft) The default coverage of 0.053 lbs/sqft is a rule of thumb for a full three-coat finish using all-purpose joint compound. Coverage varies by product, finish quality, and installer technique. **Screws Needed** = Sheets Needed × Screws per Sheet The default of 32 screws per 4×8 sheet reflects typical spacing (~16" on center along studs and edges). Actual counts depend on building code and installation pattern.
