This calculator breaks down all fence components into quantities. Posts = ceil(length ÷ spacing) + 1 (the fencepost problem) Pickets = ceil(length_inches ÷ (picket_width + gap)) Rails = fence_length × rails_per_section (runs full length) Connectors = sections × quantity_per_section Fasteners = pickets × fasteners_per_picket (typically 4-8 screws/nails per picket) Waste percentage is applied to pickets to account for cuts, breakage, and mistakes.
